‘He genuinely cares about the people he interacts with and as a result will do whatever he can to help in any way, shape or form.’
I had the privilege of being taught by Dr. Michael Low for four years. During this time, I was fortunate enough to really get to know Dr. Low. Michael was more than just a piano teacher; he was a one of a kind educator. He put countless hours of his free time into extra lessons, organizing soirees and many other events that went far beyond the scope of a standard piano teachers’ responsibilities. This is a common theme with Michael, he genuinely cares about the people he interacts with and as a result will do whatever he can to help in any way, shape or form. While, Michael is extremely friendly and warm, he also has the ability to be stern when the situation requires it. It is often hard for teachers to balance the two. Michael has the unique ability to assess his students and cater to his or her needs.
You will struggle to find Dr. Low without a smile on his face. That friendly, welcoming smile is synonymous with Michael. His friendly and caring nature contributes to his ability to relate with his students and this attitude allows for a strong and valuable relationship between everyone he comes into contact with. Michael’s warm and approachable personality makes his lessons fun and enjoyable. In addition, his incredible musicality and natural ability, I feel that his ability to convey his knowledge and advice in a constructive and simplistic manner is most impressive.
For these reasons, I not only consider Dr. Low a skilled and impressive teacher but also a friend. There aren’t many pupils that would consider their teacher a friend. This signifies the impact that Michael has had on his pupils and what he is like not just as a teacher and but also as a person.
